Practicum Student Opportunity
We currently have openings for students seeking January, May or September practicum start with the role of providing in person and virtual counselling services to clients across Ontario.
Role Description
At Rebound Total Health, our goal is to help clients Bounce Back. As a student counsellor, your role will be to provide counselling services to individuals and couples with mild to moderate general mental health struggles both virtually and in person at our Dundas, Ontario office. Within this role, practicum students will be provided with direct and indirect hours that are required to fulfill practicum requirements.

The opportunity to work with individuals and couples both virtually and partially in person at our office in Dundas, Ontario.
Convenience of working partially remotely & flexible scheduling!
Provision of clients and direct client contact hours through 50-minute virtual & in person counselling sessions, conducting intake, screening, etc.
Provision of indirect hours as per requirements of practicum
Opportunity to work with adolescent and adult clients aged 10-90 (both individual and couples) with general mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression, grief etc.
Opportunity to gain experience with a variety of therapeutic approaches including (but not limited to); CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, Client-Centered, Gottman, Emotions-focused & Trauma-informed perspectives
Regular meetings offering support, guidance and team-building
Structured learning program to support you with your practical learning experiences
FREE training opportunities in different therapy modalities
Monthly team supervision provided by Rebound Total Health
Ongoing active support from an engaged, enthusiastic site owner
Ability to sign off on completed hours and regularly meet with your external supervisor as needed.
Use of company email, booking software and company provided marketing via website and counsellor directories.

As a business coach for therapists and author of The Beginner’s Guide to Being a Therapist, Brittany, your site contact, is passionate about supporting those interested in private practice. For practicum students curious about running a private practice, this could be a great bonus for your experience at Rebound!
While we cannot currently offer clinical supervision included with your practicum, to save students the hassle of searching for an external supervisor, we have partnered with a CRPO qualified supervisor who offers professional & affordable supervision services to our students. During the onboarding & application process, you will be connected with our partnered supervisor.
The Ideal Candidate…
Is a Master’s Level student who has completed all coursework components of their program.
Is self-motivated, independent, responsible and has impeccable time-management skills.
Has flexible availability with evening and weekend availability and can dedicate an average of 15 hours per week to practicum site.
Is located near Dundas, ON with reliable transportation for greater accessibility to practicum site
Is driven and has particular interest in entering private practice
Has the necessary requirements to provide virtual counselling services including (but not limited to): A quiet, private space, high-speed internet, computer with adequate audio/visual capabilities.
Additional Assets
You have previous counselling experience.
You are registered with the CRPO as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) or have recently applied for registration.
You have completed additional training in therapeutic modalities.
