“There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.”

- John Green

Working With Me

My goal when working with clients is to help them overcome the battles they are facing by tackling them head on. You will notice that we often work together to create a plan of action that helps to create change week after week. At the end of the session, my hope is that you will feel on track and relieved.

Worth Mentioning

As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s lots to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!

  1. Comfort: It’s important to me that you feel safe in our therapeutic space so that we can dig deep and address the real problem. You can expect to feel at ease with my conversational style, and comfortable enough to crush those walls you’ve built.

  2. Authenticity: I’m an open book, which makes it easy for you to explore who you are and who you wish to become. This is a safe space where you can express your true and authentic self.

  3. Accessibility: Booking with me is easy, fast, and convenient with our online booking system. I’m also available during evenings and weekends and offer affordable rates to make therapy more accessible.

What does a session with me look like?

I always start by working together to set an agenda because it is important to me that you feel you have a say in how we structure our sessions. We typically spend some time reviewing the past week. Then, we address other items on our agenda that we have set collaboratively. Lastly, we create a realistic plan and select appropriate tools so that you can continue our work outside of the sessions!

My Approach

Welcome to your safe space. I implement an easy-going, positive, and conversational approach to psychotherapy. I use a direct approach, meaning we are not going to beat around the bush and avoid the “hard stuff” – we’re here to make real and lasting change. You are unique, so the techniques I apply will depend on who you are, the context in which you live, and the problem that you are coming to therapy with. We work together to tailor an approach that fits your needs and is backed by evidence so you can bounce back!

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

This approach focuses on the interrelatedness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Apply techniques to address ineffective cognitions in order to break the vicious cycle you are in.

Client-Centred

You are in the driver’s seat of your healing journey, while I sit in the passenger seat helping guide you along the way.

Solution Focused Therapy
(SFT)

This is a practical, strengths-based approach that capitalizes on skills you already possess to deal with your present issue.

Integrative Approach

One size does not fit all – it is important to me to create an individualized plan based on your context and lived experiences. With an integrative approach, I implement strategies from various modalities based on your needs.
