Heather Hardy
Student Therapist - MACP (IN PROGRESS) Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hi, I’m Heather! I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Rebound Total Health. As a Certified Child Life Specialist and Certified Thanatologist, my background is in psychosocial care and bereavement support. I bring a compassionate and family-centred approach to my work. I am committed to creating safe, validating spaces for individuals and families to express themselves, ask questions, and build resilience. My practice is grounded in empathy, honesty, and a deep respect for each family’s unique story.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me spending time with my Chihuahua, reading, cycling, or working on vehicles in my driveway.

My goal is to help you find strength and clarity on your journey to well-being and bouncing back!

We can connect virtually or in person
Whether you’re near or far, I can help you bounce back. We can meet in-person in a calming, quiet environment in our newly renovated office space in Dundas, Ontario. Working with me
My goal when working with clients is to create a space where they feel seen, heard, and safe, especially during times that feel uncertain, overwhelming, or painful. I want clients to leave a session feeling just a little bit lighter or more confident in their ability to cope with whatever they’re facing. My hope is that each session brings a celebration of your wins, and a compassionate presence in tough moments.
Worth mentioning
As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s lots to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!
I bring a unique perspective from working in both hospital and community environments, which allows me to support clients through complex emotional experiences with empathy and insight.
With certifications in both Child Life and Thanatology, I bring focused expertise in navigating grief, illness, and life transitions.
I believe therapy should feel like a partnership. I work with clients to understand what’s most important to them, and we move at a pace that feels comfortable, respectful, and meaningful.
What does a session with me look like?
I focus on creating a space that feels supportive, grounded, and collaborative. Depending on a client’s needs, we might talk through current challenges, explore past experiences, or build practical coping strategies. I often incorporate psychoeducation, mindfulness, narrative techniques, and emotion-focused approaches, and always have the flexibility to adjust to the best-suited approach.

My approach
The atmosphere of my sessions is calm and non-judgmental. I aim to hold space for clients to explore difficult thoughts or feelings at their own pace, while also gently encouraging insight and discovering resilience. Whether someone is navigating grief, caregiving stress, illness, or a major life transition, my goal is for them to feel supported, understood, and more connected to themselves by the end of our time together.
Psychodynamic Therapy
This approach explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns may influence present thoughts, feelings, and relationships. By building insight and self-awareness, we can begin to shift long-standing emotional patterns and foster personal growth.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT integrates acceptance and change by helping us build skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. It can be especially helpful for navigating intense emotions or relationship challenges.
Strengths-Based Therapy
This approach focuses on identifying and building upon our existing strengths and inner resources. Rather than emphasizing problems, we highlight capabilities and potential to support meaningful and empowering change.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy focuses on identifying practical solutions and setting achievable goals. It helps us focus on what’s working well and build small, actionable steps toward change.
