Hello! My name is Kaylee. I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and a student therapist at Rebound Total Health. My passion for therapy was ignited when I began my own counselling journey and experienced firsthand the power of a warm, non-judgmental space. Having navigated my own challenges, I understand how transformative it can be to feel truly seen and supported. As a queer-identified person, I have a deep commitment to supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and those facing minority stress. I’m passionate about philosophy and mindfulness, and I strive to help others cultivate self-compassion, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaning in their lives.

My goal is to help you explore yourself with curiosity and self-compassion while deepening your connection to your emotions and body. I hope you leave each session feeling heard, understood, and more connected to your own sense of meaning and strength.

Being trauma informed means that I prioritize safety, client choice and empowerment. We can explore how trauma impacts current functioning and create a space that feels secure and collaborative. 

I believe in the healing effects of a strong therapeutic relationship, and I will often bring the focus back to the here-and-now of the space between us. I will show up as an authentic human being to work alongside you.

As we are all unique, some approaches will work better for us than others. We will work together to determine what modalities fit best with your goals and desires.

What does a session with me look like?

In our sessions, I will treat you as the expert of your own experience, and together we will explore who you are with curiosity and compassion. We might use mindfulness or somatic techniques to help you connect with yourself in new ways and to deepen your awareness. Above all, my goal is to create an atmosphere of safety, authenticity, and support, where you feel comfortable showing up as you are.

My Approach

My approach is mindfulness-based, strength-based, somatic, and person-centered, meaning I meet you where you are and help you to explore your strengths and resources. I check in with you often to gain clarity and deepen awareness, while helping you to explore how your body sensations and emotions connect to your experience. Through integrating trauma-informed practices, we work together to collaborate on goals, create a sense of safety, and work towards empowerment. We work together to explore what works best for you, and you will leave with new tools and techniques to practice outside of the office. My work is also grounded in a feminist and anti-oppressive lens, acknowledging the impact of systemic stress on health and well-being.

Person-Centered Therapy (PCT)

This modality focuses on warmth, empathy and unconditional positive regard for the client. I use active listening, reflection and compassion to explore the client’s experiences.

 

Strength-Based Therapy

This modality focuses on the internal resources and existing strengths that each client already has within themselves, which can be used to improve their resilience and create meaningful change.

 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

This approach is based on mindfulness techniques and can help clients to accept difficult emotions while committing to positive change

 

Integrative Approach

Using an integrative and holistic approach allows me to draw from various theoretical frameworks such as internal family systems, narrative therapy and somatic work to create a personalized approach for each individual client.
