Hi, I’m Purleen (She/Her)! I am a student therapist and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Rebound Total Health. I have always had a strong and genuine passion for helping others, and therefore I found myself on a career path that reflects that passion. Through my personal journey, I discovered the importance of mental health, and the meaningful difference psychotherapy can make in people’s lives. My goal is to work alongside you in your journey to healing, using a compassionate and empathetic approach. I look forward to working with you, and helping guide you through this wonderful journey!

What does a session with me look like?
Everyone has their own journey, and since there is no one-size-fits-all all approach to therapy, I tailor all of my sessions to be specific to the client and their unique needs. You can expect to feel seen, cared for, and supported. If you are looking to make a change in your life, we will work collaboratively to set achievable goals, while also creating a safe and judgement-free space.

My approach
I like to utilize a client-centered approach with my clients. I believe that each client is the expert of their own life and that I am simply here to help in facilitating your own exploration, growth and healing. I like to use a collaborative and empowering approach that respects your autonomy an inherent capacity for self-understanding and change. I will bring empathy and genuineness to each session to foster trust and rapport. When working with me we will work collaboratively to decipher what tools and strategies will work best for you to fulfil your goals and emotional needs!
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy focuses on gaining a better understanding of how one’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviour interact, and how these interactions can at times lead to unhelpful patterns or negative thinking. CBT also focuses on examining and challenging different beliefs, to increase positive change.
Strength-based
Strength-based therapy is rooted in the belief that every individual possesses unique strengths. I would collaborate with you to identify these inherent strengths and utilize them as tools for achieving your therapeutic goals. I will encourage you to draw upon your strengths to navigate difficulties, build self-esteem, and create meaningful change
Solution Focused Therapy
Using a Solution focused approach, I work closely with clients to help them identify and recognize their strength and capabilities to solve their own problems and achieve better outcomes.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy views you as the expert of your own life. We will separate you from the problem and examine how certain stories may be influencing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and we will work to co-author new, more empowering narratives that align with your values and goals.
