Sarah Penny
Clinical Supervisor, Registered Psychotherapist
I’m a registered therapist and clinical supervisor who genuinely loves to support my clients and supervisees. My path into therapy grew out of a deep curiosity about people, relationships, and the ways we heal when we feel truly seen and supported. In my clinical work, I aim to create a warm, collaborative space where clients feel safe, respected, and empowered to grow at their own pace. As a supervisor, I value curiosity, reflection, and mentorship, and I enjoy supporting emerging clinicians as they build confidence, develop their skills, and find their own authentic voice while practicing with care and integrity.
By the end of a session, I want you to leave feeling supported, more connected to yourself, and a little lighter than when you came in.

Working with Sarah Penny
Working with me as a therapist is collaborative, warm, and grounded in curiosity and care. My goal is to help you feel truly understood—even when you’re still figuring things out yourself—while building clarity, self-trust, and meaningful change. By the end of a session, I want you to leave feeling supported, more connected to yourself, and a little lighter than when you came in.
Working with me as a supervisor is supportive, collaborative, and growth-oriented. My goal is to help supervisees feel confident in their clinical thinking, grounded in ethics, and clear about next steps with their clients. By the end of a supervision session, I want you to feel validated, more confident in your skills, and supported in your development as a clinician.
Worth mentioning
As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s lots to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!
Supervision feels like a conversation, not a performance. We think things through together, blending guidance with your own clinical intuition and voice.
You’ll get warmth, validation, and encouragement—alongside thoughtful feedback and gentle challenges that help you grow with confidence.
I care about who you’re becoming as a clinician, not just the case in front of us. Supervision is tailored to your goals, strengths, and learning edges so growth feels intentional and sustainable.
What does a session with me look like?
In supervision with me, you can expect a supportive, collaborative, and reflective space. We’ll review cases, explore clinical questions, and think together about ethics, boundaries, and your development as a clinician. I offer guidance, curiosity, and gentle challenge while encouraging you to trust your clinical judgment and grow your confidence. The atmosphere is approachable and non-judgmental, with an emphasis on learning, support, and professional integrity.

My approach
I believe supervision is a reflective, relational space where therapists can grow in skill, confidence, and clinical identity. It is a place where curiosity, vulnerability, and critical thinking are welcomed. I believe that supervision is not only a gatekeeping or an oversight function, but it is also a space for professional connection, ethical reflection, and skill development. My approach is values-based and emphasizes empowerment, psychological safety, openness, and mutual respect. I engage in my own supervision, both for my therapy clients and supervisees. I believe supervision should be an ongoing process for all therapists and supervisors, regardless of their years of experience.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps clients step out of unhelpful thought patterns and move toward a life guided by their values, even in the presence of difficult emotions.
Trauma-Informed Approach
My work is grounded in safety, choice, and collaboration, honoring how past experiences shape the present while supporting healing at a manageable pace.
Empowerment-Based Approach
I focus on strengths, autonomy, and collaboration, helping clients reconnect with their inner resources and confidence to create meaningful change.
