Let’s first hatch out why self-care is so important. Self-care can help manage stress, increase energy and improve your overall mental health. This self-care checklist we’re sharing in this post will help you prioritize it as part of your regular routines.
Many people struggle at some point in their lives to practice and prioritize self-care. Some people think of self-care on a superficial level, like luxury vacations or trips to the spa. Although those can be acts of self-care, it can also be having a cup of tea, taking a walk, or reducing screen time before bed.
Making self-care possible, and learning how to practice it, is about making it tangible. We know that going on a trip or booking a day at the space can be tangible at times, we also know it’s not tangible every day or even weekly for that matter.
We’ll share tips in this self-care checklist that will make it easy for you to incorporate it into your life.Â
Self-Care Strategies: Prioritizing Them Daily
So how can you prioritize self-care? One surefire way to add self-care into your everyday life is by making a self-care checklist for yourself.Â
This checklist should include easily accessible activities like stretching, taking a bath, and watching the sunrise.
This checklist should also have more elaborate activities like going to a movie, trying a new class or reading a book. You can even add activities that you can do sometimes like seeing your therapist, going out for dinner with friends, and changing your home environment.
After you’ve compiled your list of all the different pillars of self-care with loads of options, it’s time to make a goal for yourself. Maybe your goal is to start doing two or three self-care activities a day. You can watch the sunset, put on a face mask, and order dinner for you and your partner.Â
By intentionally prioritizing self-care, you will start to notice the time you are dedicating to self-care and the hope is you’ll begin to remember to make time for it, and feel the difference it is making in your life. Remember creating a checklist could be a self-care activity all on its own too.Â

Create Your Own Self-Care Strategies
You may find while creating your checklist that you may add things you are already doing every day. Notice that, and give yourself some credit as you’ve been practicing self-care all along, but now with your checklist, you’re prioritizing it and noting it, which will in turn help boost your feelings towards self-care and the feelings towards yourself and your life.Â
Don’t be afraid to share your checklist with your family and friends. It may be the inspiration they need to start participating in self-care practices. Who knows? Maybe a new self-care activity would be coming up with self-care ideas together with friends and making new checklists.Â
