Therapy for Men & Men’s Issues
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just… off? Maybe you’re stressed, angry, anxious, burned out – or just tired of pretending everything’s fine. Sound familiar?
We know asking for help isn’t always easy, especially when you’ve been taught to tough it out. But struggling alone doesn’t make you strong. It just makes you… exhausted. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, communication struggles, unhealthy coping habits, or just feeling burnt out by life – our therapy for men is designed with you in mind. No awkward vibes. No pressure to spill your life story on day one. Just honest conversations, practical tools, and a therapist who gets what you’re going through.
You don’t have to figure it all out on your own – and you don’t have to become someone else to feel better. Ready to take that next step? You’re in the right place.
What are Men’s Issues?
Spoiler alert: they’re not issues only men deal with.
But when guys do show up to therapy, certain themes pop up a lot – stress, anger, anxiety, relationship stuff, sex, numbing out with bad habits…
The truth is, men often face different hurdles when it comes to mental health. Thanks to outdated ideas like “real men don’t talk about feelings,” too many guys tough it out in silence. That’s why we created a space built with men in mind – no stigma, no lectures, and no pressure to have it all figured out.
We get the unique struggles men face – and we’re here to make it easier (and way less weird) to get the support you need!
What is different about therapy for men?
Here’s the thing: mental health can show up differently in men. It’s not always tears and heart-to-hearts (though those are welcome too). Sometimes it looks like anger, shutting down, overthinking, diving into work – or, let’s be honest, video games and YouTube rabbit holes.
That’s why therapy for men isn’t about being different – it’s about understanding those differences so we can actually get to the root of what’s going on.
The process? Same solid methods we use with all our clients – like CBT or DBT – but with a practical, straight-talking approach that tends to click better for guys. If you’re someone who prefers logic and structure over emotional deep-dives right out of the gate, we’ve got you.
What sets us apart is how we work – with zero judgment, a relaxed vibe, and real conversations that meet you where you are. Our therapists have specific experience working with men, so we know how to tune in to your perspective, whether you’re navigating life solo or trying to figure out the relationship maze.
We make therapy feel less like a chore and more like a step forward.
What happens in a ‘men's therapy’ session?
You’ve heard it before – “therapy’s different for everyone.” And yep, it really is. But here’s what you can expect as a guy starting therapy.
First, we’ll get to know you and build a solid connection. No pressure, no judgment. We might talk about how you’ve been taught to handle emotions (or not handle them). A lot of men are raised to take up space – just not emotional space. Therapy is your chance to change that.
That doesn’t mean it’s all deep feelings and tissues – unless you want it to be. It’s more about understanding your emotions and learning healthier ways to deal with stress, anger, or avoidance.
Got something awkward you’re not sure you can bring up? Trust us – we’ve heard it all! Nothing’s too weird, and nothing’s off limits.
Some of the most common issues that Men attend therapy for are…
- Anxiety & Depression
- Communication Problems
- Vulnerability & Struggles Connecting with Emotions
- Anger Management
- Unhealthy coping patterns
- Sexual Struggles
- Toxic Masculinity
- Infidelity
- Relationship Issues
- Feeling Inadequate / Powerlessness
What are some strategies to help support men starting therapy?
Feel the Feelings
Not sure what you’re feeling? You’re not alone! A lot of guys tend to think their feelings instead of actually feel them. Totally normal – and totally something we can work on!
Here’s a simple tool to get started: Check out the Feelings Wheel below.
Once a day, pick a feeling you’re noticing (or kinda noticing) and see if you can trace where it’s coming from. It’s like emotional GPS – but way less cheesy.
And hey – don’t worry. Therapy isn’t all mushy gushy stuff. (Unless you want it to be. No judgment!)
Evaluate your Values
When we set goals for therapy, we’re not looking for the version of you shaped by “man up” culture or outdated gender rules. We want to know the real you – who you are, and who you actually want to be.
Try this quick Values Exercise below.
It’ll help you get clear on what matters most – so we can build therapy around what you care about, not what the world says you should.
You’ve got two options really…
Keep doing what you’re doing – and keep feeling stuck, stressed, disconnected, or just…meh.
OR take the first step toward something better.
More clarity. Better relationships. Healthier habits.
And yeah, actually feel good again! Because you deserve it!
Therapy doesn’t have to be scary, awkward, or overly emotional.
It can just be a healthy more forward toward the life you actually want.
