Therapy for Stress & Life Transitions
Maybe you’re feeling totally overwhelmed, stuck in a fog, or just plain off. Big change hit you out of nowhere? Or maybe you’re in a stressful season and leaning on habits you know aren’t helping. Even when nothing dramatic is happening, it’s easy to feel lost, unmotivated, or like you’re floating without direction. (Been there!)
Life doesn’t always come with a user manual – but therapy can help you figure things out as you go. Whether you’re navigating a tough transition, managing stress, or just trying to feel like yourself again, we’re here to help you find clarity, build healthy coping tools, and actually feel good about where you’re headed.
What are Life Transitions?
Change happens – even when we don’t ask for it.
New job? New city? New family dynamic? Whether it’s a big life shake-up or a small shift that somehow feels huge, transitions have a way of throwing us off balance. As humans, we love our comfort zones (seriously, who doesn’t?). But when life nudges – or shoves us out of them, it can be tough to find our footing again.
The truth is, change is part of the deal. And learning how to roll with it (without losing yourself in the process) is a skill worth building. So if you’re feeling lost, overwhelmed, or just plain wiped from all the adjusting – you don’t have to figure it out alone.
We’re here to help you navigate the messy middle and come out the other side with more clarity, confidence, and calm.
How Stress Can Impact our Mental Health
Stress isn’t just in your head – it’s in your body too. One of the first things we help clients understand about stress is that it’s not just a “mental thing.” Your body’s actually doing a whole lot behind the scenes. When you’re calm and chill, your parasympathetic nervous system (aka your “rest and digest” mode) is running the show. But when life gets chaotic? Hello, sympathetic nervous system – aka “fight or flight” mode.
That’s when your heart races, your muscles tense up, your digestion takes a vacation, and your brain basically turns into a full-time threat detector. No wonder stress feels so intense!
In therapy, we’ll help you understand what’s going on in that amazing body of yours and give you tools to train your nervous system to work with you, not against you. Because when you learn to calm your body, your mind follows. And suddenly, you’re not just surviving stress… you’re managing it like a pro!

Signs of an unhealthy amount of stress
In our world today, facing stress is inevitable. But, just like everything in life, stress is only manageable in moderation. Are you experiencing any of these signs of too much stress?
- Headaches
- Chronic Pain
- Appetite changes
- Depression
- Rapid Heart Rate
- Moodiness, irritability or anger
- Feeling overwhelmed
Effectively Facing Life transitions & Stress
Life’s gonna life – so let’s help you get flexible (in the best way).
When it comes to handling stress and big life changes, one of your greatest superpowers is adaptability. The more adaptable you are, the quicker you can adjust, bounce back, and stay grounded when things get messy. But don’t worry – adaptability isn’t something you either have or don’t have. It’s a skill you build.
That starts with something called psychological flexibility, basically learning when to stand your ground and when it’s safe to bend. Together, we’ll help you figure out where your boundaries, needs, and non-negotiables are, while also building some wiggle room for growth, change, and the unexpected.
With the right support (and a therapist in your corner), you’ll build a solid foundation to not just handle what life throws your way, but to actually thrive through it.

What are some strategies to help manage my stress?
Lean Into Green!
One of the best ways to invite more “green zone” (aka calm, grounded, relaxed vibes) into your world is to notice when it’s already there – and then lean all the way in.
Think about it: When do you feel the most chill? Is it when you’re curled up on the couch, watching a movie with your partner? Great! Now take that moment and really sink into it.
Put the phone down. Silence the notifications. Forget the to-do list. Snuggle in. Breathe.
Let your body feel safe, still, and settled. The more we practice tuning into these calm moments, the more we train our brain (and nervous system) to hang out in that green zone a little more often.
Regulate that nervous system!
When stress levels are sky-high, your body kicks into fight-or-flight mode – thanks, cortisol! That’s your sympathetic nervous system doing its thing. The goal? Help your body switch gears into rest-and-digest mode (a.k.a. the calm zone).
To do that, we’ve got to jolt the nervous system – in a good way. And one of the quickest ways to do that? Wake up your senses! Think of it like hitting the reset button on your body.
Here are a few fun, slightly wild ways to do just that:
Cold shower or ice bath
A mouthful of super hot sauce or sour candy
Intense, get-your-heart-pumping movement
Suck on an ice cube like it’s your new best friend
These sensory “interruptions” help your body snap out of stress mode and slide into chill mode. Weird? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely.
How Can We Help You?
Stay stuck in stress…and it keeps running your life. Left unchecked, stress drains your energy, messes with your sleep, impacts your relationships, and leaves you feeling totally disconnected from yourself.
You can change the story.
Imagine feeling calm, clear, and actually in control again. That’s what therapy can help you build – one step at a time.
Let’s get you out of survival mode. You in?
