Spring has Sprung- New beginnings!

Spring is here, and it's a time of new beginnings! If you're thinking about attending therapy, now is the perfect time to start. Your therapist can help you work on positive changes by reflecting on your strengths and values, exploring your life goals and hopes, discussing recent events, and navigating past experiences in a safe environment.

So, why not use the spring season as a motivator to make changes, start therapy, and start living the life you want? Contact Rebound Total Health today to begin your therapy journey.

Although we mainly associate the new year and beginnings with January's standard new year calendar. My favorite time to set new goals, reflect, make new plans, and adjust is April 1st, the unofficial first day of spring (to me)! Although January is when New Year resolutions and goals are discussed the most, this can often be a difficult time to start all those resolutions and put those plans into motion because of the season, cold days, seasonal impact, and lack of motivation that comes with it.

April has always been an exciting time for me to reflect, set intentions, and focus on self-development and growth. Something about the longer days and excitement for warmer weather has me wanting to start things fresh. Many things start and end at this time of year, such as the fiscal calendar at work, tax season and budget reflections, university or secondary school programs, spring courses, and changes- making it a natural time to think about what is next!

Spring can be the perfect time to start therapy for this reason! With the excellent weather upon us and longer days, it can be a good time to attend therapy in person—there is more motivation to leave the house and more hours in a day to make time for appointments.

It’s essential to be comfortable with change and be constantly changing and evolving because it opens doors for us to live the most authentic and happy lives possible! With that in mind, ways for us to be more understanding of ourselves, heal wounds, and better manage our daily lives will help us change and grow! Here are some ways you and your therapist can work on positive changes together this spring:

Your Strengths- Sometimes, we get so caught up in day-to-day routines and habits that we forget to take a step back and reflect on who we are. What makes you, YOU. Have you ever been asked about yourself in a job interview or on a first date, and your mind goes blank? Understanding what works for you and your strengths can be important because it may change how you experience situations and relationships and help carve a path forward in work, personal, or family relationships. Take time with your therapist to reflect and dive into what your strengths are. If there is a strength you wish you had or was different, then working with a therapist to build on that strength can be a great use of your time together.

Life Goals and Values—Just as we do with our strengths, sometimes we get so used to habits and caught up in our daily lives that we forget to step back and ask ourselves if we have everything we want or if we are making choices that align with the life we want. Sitting with your therapist and exploring values, goals, and hopes for your life can ensure you are living your most fulfilled and authentic life! It’s never too late to make changes or have new beginnings.

Recent events- You may have changes or events happening in your life that it is beneficial to discuss and process with a therapist. Having a therapist guide you through a new perspective or process events can alleviate stress or prevent feeling overwhelmed! Whether you are processing a new relationship, ending school, or making a career change, having someone to work through it can help make things easier!

Past events- Just as it’s essential to process current events, it can also be helpful to reflect on past events to understand them better, offer an opportunity for healing, or change our perspective with time. Your therapist can help you carefully navigate past experiences in a safe environment

Whatever you’re going through, big or small, navigating it with a therapist can be helpful. Therapy allows you to ensure you are living the life you want and also slow down and appreciate the little things! Using the spring season as a motivator to make changes, start therapy, and start living the life you want can be rewarding! Reach out to Rebound Total Health today to begin your therapy journey.
