Supervision Formats

We’ve got a variety of supervision options for you to choose from!

Individual Supervision

Meet one-on-one with your supervisor. This is a great option for those with lots of questions, acute cases, or who are newer to the field and want to soak up the entire session for learning! Your session will be fully devoted to your needs as a therapist and customized solely to you.

Dyadic Supervision

You and your dyadic partner (another therapist in the field) will meet with your supervisor. This is great for those who are looking for financially accessible supervision and who are eager to learn both from their supervisor and their peers. Supervisees will often find themselves learning from one another’s questions. Supervision sessions aim to allow both dyadic partners equal time to ask questions or present cases, and sessions will be organized based on the collective needs of both dyadic partners.

Group Supervision - Coming Soon!

Group supervision is another financially accessible supervision format that allows you to learn from your supervisor and a group of like-minded peers. In these sessions, you may only have time to present 1 or 2 cases/questions as the needs of the whole group need to be prioritized. You’ll find yourself learning a lot from the cases and questions others present. Typically these are well-organized groups to allow for everyone to get access to support.

What you can expect from our supervisors.

Our supervisors share our belief that the world of therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical and stuffy, or zen and fluffy.

We’re practical, down-to-earth, easygoing, and dare I say… fun?

We’re strong believers that supervision is a massive influencer of your learning as a therapist, so we take the time to cater supervision to you, your needs, your likes and preferences, and most importantly, how you like to learn. Our supervisors have tons of experience, but not the clinical stuffiness or “intimidation factor” that sometimes comes with this kind of experience.

Our supervisors are approachable, warm, welcoming, supportive, and definitely not intimidating.

With experience in a variety of presenting struggles, modalities, and approaches, our supervisors are well-equipped to support your diverse caseload. We also offer flexible scheduling and different supervision formats to suit your needs and busy schedule! If you can’t tell, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to supervision here - together, we’ll customize your supervision experience so you get the most out of it!

How it works

Step 1: Supervision Consultation

Similar to clients finding the right therapist, we think it’s critical to find the right supervisor to complement your learning style and approach to therapy. Our supervisors offer a free 15-minute consultation for you to meet with them to see if they’re the right fit for you before moving forward. This is also a great opportunity to discuss practical pieces of supervision like fees, pacing, and frequency and to get your questions answered by your potential supervisor.

Step 2: Initial Supervision Session

The first supervision session is an opportunity for your supervisor to get to know you even better so they can cater your supervision sessions to you. They’ll spend time exploring your stage of practice, your strengths, preferred modalities, any goals you may have for supervision, how you like to learn and receive feedback, and how you’d like to structure your supervision sessions. Together, you and your supervisor will set up a supervision plan that fits your unique needs.

Step 3: Ongoing Supervision Sessions

In subsequent supervision sessions, your supervisor will structure the sessions based on your preferences and clinical needs. Most of the time, they’ll check in at the beginning of your session, and you’ll collaboratively set an agenda based on priorities and clinical urgency. Throughout your work together, your supervisor will ask for and encourage regular feedback so they can continue customizing the learning experience TO YOU. As the needs in your therapy practice change, so can your supervision!
