Frequently Asked Questions about Massage Therapy

  • Throughout your treatment, your massage therapist will regularly check in to ensure your comfort. Of course, when working with sore areas, there may be moments of some discomfort. However, we ask you for regular feedback and will tailor the modalities used to your comfort level in order to minimize discomfort while being therapeutically beneficial. You often will leave massages feeling less tense and more relaxed!

  • If it’s your first appointment with your registered massage therapist, you will complete a health history and informed consent, then review the problem areas in detail with your therapist so they can tailor treatment to you. They’ll walk you through what to expect and how the process works before getting started on the massage treatment itself. In subsequent appointments, you can expect your massage therapist to review the treatment plan, check in on your symptoms and re assess as needed.

In each treatment, your experience will be catered to you! You can expect your therapist to tend to your preferences such as – the lighting in the room, music or no music, how many blankets you prefer, if you like to chat throughout or have a quieter experience and of course, what types of pressure and modalities are comfortable for you!
