Hi! I’m Katarina (she/her). I’m a student therapist and registered psychotherapist (qualifying) at Rebound Total Health. I am driven by empathy and a genuine passion to help others. My journey into this field was fuelled by my own experience with psychotherapy and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I know how daunting therapy can be for some but I am here to make it as easy, fun, and as accessible as possible. I am honoured and excited to walk alongside my clients during this powerful journey.

What does a session with me look like?

I tailor all my sessions to my client’s specific and unique needs but you can expect to always feel listened to, cared for, and supported. If you’d like to sit and vent, I will be there to listen and validate your experiences. If you’d like to make a change in your life, we will set practical and achievable goals collaboratively. I will guide you through difficult sessions with warmth and understanding, and laugh with you during easier ones. Above all I strive to create a warm, safe, judgment free space where your therapeutic needs will be met.

My Approach

I utilize a variety of different therapeutic modalities that I tailor to each individual client’s desires and needs. I have a deep appreciation for Emotions Focused Therapy (EFT). Not only is EFT an evidence-based approach it also feels like receiving a warm, supportive hug! While maintaining professionalism, I believe in fostering a sense of ease, fun, and even humour when appropriate, allowing for moments of levity and connection amidst your healing journey.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

I employ CBT techniques to help clients identify and modify negative thought patterns and behaviors. This approach is goal-oriented and focuses on developing practical coping strategies. I do not follow a typical CBT session format but will integrate theories and techniques.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Through exploring the type of attachments we had with our childhood caregivers, we can better understand why we show up the way we do in our relationships as adults. By using attachment theory as a framework, we can work on developing more secure attachments with others and fostering healthier and more meaningful relationships.

Emotions Focused Therapy (EFT)

An approach that focuses on warmth, empathy, and understanding emotions. Emotions provide valuable information about your needs, experiences and relationships. We can use this information to understand and identify patterns to encourage change.

Eclectic

Using multiple modalities and techniques to meet the individual client’s needs.
