Working With Me

My role is to embrace your understanding of your experiences and to collaborate on uncovering what is important to you and how you would like to overcome your current challenges. I will take on the role you need, whether walking alongside you or guiding you toward new perspectives and tools for personal growth. At the end of each session, I want you to feel lighter and as though you have taken something away to practice or reflect on.

Worth Mentioning

As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s a lot to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!
Authenticity and Comfort: I provide a nonjudgmental, open-minded, and compassionate space that allows you to be yourself. I bring my authentic self to our sessions to create a comfortable and relaxed environment for sharing whatever is on your mind.

Adaptable: There is no pressure or stress as I strive to ensure our sessions are adjusted to your needs. My goal is to lessen the anxiety that can come with seeking support.

Exploration: By exploring your experiences and patterns, we can uncover new understandings and perspectives surrounding what you bring to therapy. This new self-knowledge will empower you to develop into the person you want to be.

What does a session with me look like?

I work with clients to develop a safe, genuine, reliable connection and highlight client strengths to offer an alternative perspective. I help my clients uncover their core desires and the root of their challenges and become the version of themselves they have always wanted to be. I strive to make you feel seen, understood, and ready and able to make the changes you feel will improve your well-being.

My Approach

I am here to “meet you where you are at” and go at your pace; this is your journey, and I am here to offer as much or as little structure as you need. Working together, we will collaborate to design a therapeutic path to help address the challenges you bring to sessions. We will take the time you need to develop a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship that will be a secure environment where you can vent, grow, and explore your inner world.

Psychodynamic Therapy:

Our early life experiences often affect our current thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, sometimes subconsciously. Insight into these experiences can allow us to begin acknowledging and changing patterns and defence mechanisms that no longer serve you.

Narrative Therapy:

The meaning you give to your experiences influences how you see and interact with yourself, others, and the world around you. By making sense of these experiences and creating space for you to tell your story, we can create distance between you and your challenges so there is room for a new story to develop.

Internal Family Systems (IFS):

People are comprised of “parts” of themselves that all serve a purpose. Everyone has wounded parts and parts that serve to protect them from the pain of those wounds, often in maladaptive ways. By healing the wounded parts and granting the protective parts permission to stop being on high alert, we can bring harmony back to our core self and restore mental balance.

Strength-Based:

When we are in the midst of challenging times, it can be hard to see our own strength, resilience, and resourcefulness. Together, let’s explore your inner strengths, bring those parts to the surface and find ways to use them to build solutions to your current struggles.
