MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Lauren

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Hi, I’m Lauren! I am a student therapist here at Rebound Total Health! For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in the interactions of human beings and how human behaviour impacts society. By the age of nine, I was spending recess volunteering with children living with disabilities, and by fourteen I was seeking ways to improve school culture around bullying. To say the least, my passion lies in supporting others - in whatever way I can. My journey working in the mental health field began as a volunteer for a crisis line and drop-in wellness center on a university campus. Since then, I have worked in emergency homeless shelters, residential treatment facilities, and community-based substance use programs. Each of these experiences have deepened my empathy and broadened my understanding of the unique struggles individuals in my community encounter. I am truly so grateful for the meaningful relationships I have been able to build with the folks I have supported over the years, and look forward to continuing fostering genuine connections.

I am driven by a passion for empowering others to overcome challenges, build resilience, and discover their inner strengths. I am honoured to be part of the transformative process that therapy offers, and I look forward to accompanying you on your path to self-discovery and healing!

Holistic Perspective - I don’t just focus on the problem at hand. I consider your well-being from a holistic approach, addressing your physical, mental, and emotional health. By exploring the interconnected aspects of your life, I hope to adopt a treatment plan that addresses the underlying causes of the problem to support positive change.

My Approach

My integrative approach draws from various therapeutic modalities and embraces the richness of diversity. I believe in taking the time to understand and meet people where they are at, and in doing so, tailor interventions to meet your unique needs. By combining different therapeutic techniques, we have the flexibility to adapt to your preferences and the evolving nature of your healing journey. I am here to guide you throughout the therapeutic process, and be there for you in whatever way you need me to be.

Integrative Approach

By combining elements from various therapeutic perspectives, an integrative approach personalizes a treatment plan that meets the unique needs of each individual. By employing techniques and interventions from solution focused therapy, narrative therapy, or CBT, I will tailor my approach to your specific situation and present challenges.

Person-Centered

In person-centered therapy, the focus is on you - the client - as you navigate your unique journey of self-exploration and personal growth. As a therapist, I will provide a supportive, empathetic, and non-directive environment that guides you in building self-awareness.

Strengths Based

A strengths-based approach recognizes the remarkable strengths that make you who you are. Within each individual, lies a reservoir of resilience, courage, and potential waiting to be harnessed. Together let’s explore your strengths and learn how they can help you navigate challenges.

Psychodynamic:

Psychodynamic therapy explores how past experiences, particularly those from childhood, impact our present day functioning. Through exploration of thoughts, emotions, and recurring patterns in a free-flowing conversation, this approach aims to enhance self-awareness and work toward personal growth.
