Hello my name is Malina! I am currently in my fourth year of my Bachelors of Social Work at Carleton University. I have a passion for advocating and supporting individuals who are going through their mental health journey. While I have many career goals I would love to be a social worker in a hospital that focuses on mental health crisis intervention. I would also like to be a University Professor that helps guide and mentor future social workers. I look forward to working with you as your client coordinator!

Meeting with me!

When meeting with me I like to create a safe space for my clients to be able to discuss what

is on their minds and work collaboratively towards setting common goals. By the end of the

consultation, I want you to feel confident in yourself in starting your mental health journey!

What happens in a consultation?!

  1. Discuss your goals. We’ll start by determining what you’d like to work on in therapy and what’s brought you here! We just need a general idea of the topics for exploration and areas you’d like to focus on in therapy.

  2. Get to know you. We’ll chat a bit about your day-to-day life, what you do and who you are. Finding the right therapist includes finding the right personality fit, so don’t be scared to let your personality shine!

  3. Preferences. Whether you’ve been to therapy before or this is your first time, if you have any preferences about what type of therapist you want or what you might be specifically looking for, we’ll take note. No idea what you want or need? Don’t worry! No preferences required :)

  4. Practical Stuff. We’ll spend some time discussing the practical aspects of therapy such as your availability, booking information and of course financial aspects of therapy such as prices, payments & benefits coverage.

  5. Questions. Last but certainly not least, the consultation offers an opportunity for you to ask us any questions you may have about virtual/telephone therapy at Rebound, the process of getting started or anything you’re uncertain of!

Just for Fun

Q: Dogs or Cats?
A: I love both! I currently have two dogs named Winston and Skye!

Q: Guilty Pleasure?
A: I self admittedly love snuggling up on the couch with my dogs, ordering take out, and watching endless amounts of Netflix.

Q: Favourite Season?
A: I love Fall since I can wear comfy knit sweaters and enjoy the colorful scenery!

Q: Favourite Saying?
A: In my personal and professional life, I always say “this too shall pass” because no matter how bad something can be in the moment, it will eventually pass and a new day will shine through.

Q: Biggest Pet Peeve
A: My biggest pet peeve would be drivers who drive slow in the left lane.

Q: Ideal Vacation?
A: My husband and I love travelling, and our ideal vacation is exploring a new country or city and enjoying the food and sites it has to offer!

Q: Hobbies?
A: I love just staying in and curling up on the couch with my two lap dogs especially when it’s raining. I also enjoy taking my dogs to the dog park, doing puzzles and going to the gym!

Q: Big Dreams?
A: My dream would be to be able to travel the world with my dogs and husband and try all the different food that the world has to offer!
