MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Nikka

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

“My name is Nikka (she/her), and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and student therapist at Rebound Total Health. Having worked in a variety of fields, I discovered my true passion for supporting people with their wellness. I have worked in the mental health industry for over 3 years, supporting couples, parents, and individuals from the ages 6+ who are managing a variety of challenges. I have helped support parents with their parenting style, couples with mediating conflict and working towards a healthier relationship/reconnecting, and have supported children, youths, and adults who struggle with anxiety and depression.”

“It’s important to remember that your journey through life is your own, and no one else’s. Only you have the power to write your story.”

Working With Me

If you are looking for an authentic, honest, compassionate, and driven therapist you need not look further. I work to empower clients to make the changes they want to see in life happen. At the end of a session, I aim for clients to feel set up for success and excited to work towards their personal goals/overall betterment.

Worth Mentioning

As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s lots to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!
Respect:
Therapy is all about YOU, not the therapist. I will put you first and will work with you to achieve your goals.

Authenticity: I don’t take myself too seriously. I recognize that you are the expert on your own life, and I respect that you are opening up to let me have a look inside. Working with me, you will not feel judged, but validated.

Accessibility: I recognize the need to services to be adaptable, and can work with you to maintain sessions virtually, or in-person to best accommodate your needs. I aim to remove the hurdle to receiving quality services.

What does a session with me look like?

If you enjoy humour and working with someone who takes a dynamic approach to counselling, then we may be the right fit! I always check-in with my clients and ensure I am not missing anything important before diving into the work (because life loves to throw curve balls). I work with my clients to work towards their unique goals and foster a safe space where you can develop your own awareness as well as build strategies for long-term success.

My approach is integrative and is tailored to best suit your needs. I access your goals, needs, and impacts to help best determine what would be the most helpful approach to utilize. Expand awareness of how your psychological, and physiological reactions connect or impact your core beliefs, values, and goals.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy empowers you to tell your own story, as the expert on your own life, and helps to externalize the challenges you face without fear of judgement or bias.

Person-Centered Therapy

Recognizing the motivation to achieve personal wellness, and positive functioning, person-centred therapy focuses on facilitating a client’s own awareness and building of skills, guiding them on their own journey, rather than directing it.
