ACCEPTING CLIENTS FOR MAY 2024
MEET YOUR THERAPIST
Victoria
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hi! I’m Victoria. I am a student psychotherapist intern and registered psychotherapist (qualifying). My journey into psychotherapy began with me wanting to pursue a helping profession. I stumbled with the idea of going into medicine and law, however, through my own personal journey I realized how important mental health is and how influential it can be on biological health and social relationships. Using a multi-focal lens, we will work to address all aspects of health together.
I look forward to helping you on your journey.

Working With Me
We're in this together! My goal is for us to work together and create a strong therapeutic relationship that is filled with empathy, compassion, and authenticity. My main goal for clients is to lift the heavy burden that they carry off their mind and body and realize that accessing vulnerability is a strength and seek to show them their own inherent capabilities and resources.
Worth Mentioning
As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s a lot to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!
1) Non-judgmental & Compassionate: Know that I see and hear you. You do not need to worry about shame, fear, or guilt. You are completely supported and in a safe space.
2) Collaborative: You and I will navigate our sessions together, always as fellow travelers.
3) Mindful: When I say mindful, it means that I am aware and present. This allows me to give you 100% of my focus and attention.
What does a session with me look like?
When a client starts a session with me, I would like for both of us to be grounded and comfortable and feel like we can have a genuine rapport together. I never want my clients to be apologetic or uncomfortable for being 100% themselves. I start with a quick mindfulness or breathing technique before diving into topics that can be vulnerable in a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment with frequent check-ins before establishing goals for success.

My Approach
My approach is very collaborative and holistic, this means that together we pick a unique set of tools to help address the challenges in your life. I value your feedback and honesty and in return you will be provided with a non-judgmental response filled with compassion. We will continue to be flexible, integrate, and change different therapeutic modalities until we get it right.
Psychodynamic/ Attachment- Based:
Our past, especially our early childhood relationships can influence our present behaviours, even if subconsciously. By exploring your past, we can better understand our behaviours and help promote secure attachment and healthy relationships.
Narrative Therapy:
Through our personal life experiences, we develop a main story that predetermines how we perceive and behave in situations. Using this approach, we will externalize and confront your problem allowing you to re-write your story.
Internal Family Systems (IFS):
This is also known as “parts work”. This approach helps us become more aware of the different parts of ourselves. Every part of you has a purpose. Together we will find these parts and understand them through a compassionate lens to facilitate healing.
Strength-Based:
I strongly believe that every client has a unique set of strengths and resources that can help them. Using a strength-based orientation, we will figure out what your personal strengths are and how to access them more often to achieve your goals.
