Adam Vieira
Student Therapist - MACP (IN PROGRESS)
Supporting others, building connections, and seeing people grow has always been important to me. After six years in the financial industry, I made the decision to pursue psychotherapy to build a career more aligned with my values and desire to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. From a young age, I took pride in being someone that friends and family could turn to for support, and I found genuine fulfillment in knowing I had helped someone feel understood, supported, or better equipped to navigate a challenge. Building a career centred on helping people work through life’s most difficult moments, deepen self-understanding, and foster growth is both a natural fit and a meaningful privilege. Whether you are navigating a major life challenge or simply feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain, I look forward to supporting you in exploring what matters most to you and working toward meaningful growth and change.Â
My goal is for each session to feel like a safe space to process, heal, and grow.

Working with Me
I take a collaborative approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that clients already carry many of the answers within themselves, and my role is to help them discover and make sense of them. I want clients to feel heard, understood, and safe bringing their full story into the room, while also knowing I will challenge them thoughtfully when I believe it may support growth. Above all, I hope clients leave sessions feeling connected, supported, and confident that they have a trusted partner walking alongside them.Â
Worth mentioning
As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s lots to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!
I believe clients are the experts in their own lives. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to partner with you in your journey, helping you explore your experiences, clarify what matters most to you, and work toward meaningful growth and change.
Meaningful therapeutic work is built on genuine human connection. Just as clients are encouraged to bring their full, authentic selves into the room, I strive to do the same. I aim to let my personality and humanity naturally inform my therapeutic approach, creating a relationship grounded in honesty, trust, and real connection.
Every client’s needs, goals, and preferred way of working are different. Whether you are looking for an open space to process thoughts and emotions or a more structured, goal-oriented approach, I tailor sessions to meet you where you are.Â
What does a session with me look like?
I take a collaborative and flexible approach to sessions, adapting to what each client is looking for and needs in the moment. We may start by checking in on your week and discussing what feels most important to focus on that day. For some clients, sessions provide a space to freely explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences through conversation and reflection, while others may prefer a more structured, goal-oriented approach. Along the way, I help clients clarify emotions, make sense of their experiences, and recognize patterns or inconsistencies that may be influencing how they think, feel, and relate to others.Â

My Approach
As an emerging therapist, my approach is grounded in curiosity, flexibility, and collaboration. I view therapy as a client-led process and believe each person’s needs, goals, and lived experiences should guide the therapeutic journey. In the early stages of therapy, I prioritize building a strong understanding of who the client is, what has brought them to therapy, and what they hope to gain from the experience. From there, I aim to tailor my approach to best support the client, drawing from different therapeutic perspectives and interventions in ways that align with their unique concerns, strengths, values, and goals.Â
Person-Centred Therapy
Person-centred therapy resonates with my belief in the healing potential of a therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I value creating an environment where clients feel accepted, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences, deepen self-awareness, and move toward growth.
Cognitive Behavioural (CBT)
CBT offers practical tools to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. I value its structured, evidence-based approach while adapting interventions to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy aligns with my belief that people are more than the problems they face. I am drawn to its focus on exploring personal stories, externalizing challenges, and helping clients reconnect with their strengths, values, and preferred identities.
Existential Therapy
Existential therapy resonates with my interest in helping clients explore meaning, identity, uncertainty, and life transitions. I appreciate its focus on the deeper questions of human experience and supporting clients in living more authentic, values-aligned lives.
