Shachi Bhavsar
Student Therapist - MACP (IN PROGRESS)
Hi there! My name is Shachi Bhavsar, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Rebound Total Health. For many years, it felt like I had too many tabs open in my brain all at once, with each one playing a different song and creating constant dissonance as I navigated an ADHD diagnosis in an immigrant household. Rather than trying to shut these experiences down, learning how to organize them into remixes I could enjoy helped me move from feeling fragmented towards harmony and wholeness.
These personal reflections, alongside an education in psychology, have fueled my commitment to supporting others in integrating and adapting to the chaos of life to find holistic balance and structure. I am motivated by genuine connection and a desire to foster hope and joy, and I look forward to offering you an inclusive space that honours your diverse lived experiences and recognizes your strengths as the foundation for growth.
My goal is to help you find strength and clarity on your journey to well-being and bouncing back!

Worth mentioning
As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s lots to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!
I believe we are shaped by an interconnected web of experiences and values, and that our physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being all influence one another. Together, we can collaboratively explore all of these dimensions to support healing that feels integrated and aligned with your whole self.
I truly understand the importance of adapting to what works for your life and for you, rather than fighting against it. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, and I work with you to tailor care that reflects your unique experiences, needs, perspectives, and existing strengths.
I am a spirited person who brings warmth, lightness, and an uplifting presence into the therapeutic space. To me, being spirited also means being deeply curious about your spirit. I believe everyone carries a quiet drive and a sense of purpose, and together we can explore what passions fuel your spirit to help you reconnect with that inner spark and support it in ways that feel sustaining for you.
What does a session with me look like?
Therapy can often feel heavy, therefore in sessions with me you can expect an atmosphere that includes warmth, levity, and shared moments of lightness and laughter. Meaningful work with me includes open reflection, mindfulness strategies and practical tools to help you gain insight, structure, and coping strategies that you can apply outside of your session. I aim to create a human-to-human connection through curiosity, thoughtful questions, and genuine presence, centred around what feels most supportive for you.

My Approach
My approach to counselling is holistic and grounded in collaboration, compassion, and curiosity. I view clients as experts in their own lives and work alongside them to understand how their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, and cultural experiences interact. Together, we can co-create goals and a flexible structure that feels supportive rather than prescriptive. This collaborative process actively incorporates your feedback, reflection, and preferences, ensuring that therapy remains responsive, relevant, and aligned with what feels most meaningful and helpful for you.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and how these patterns influence well-being. Together, we work to identify unhelpful patterns and develop practical strategies to support change and emotional regulation.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
MBCT integrates mindfulness practices with cognitive strategies to help individuals relate differently to their thoughts and emotions. It emphasizes awareness, presence, and self-compassion, particularly when working with stress, rumination, or low mood.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation involves learning about mental health, emotional responses, and coping strategies in a clear and accessible way. Understanding the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and what is happening in the mind and body can reduce self-blame and empower meaningful change.
Integrative
An integrative approach allows me to draw from relational, strengths-based, culturally responsive, and emotion-focused perspectives to support meaningful change. This flexibility helps sessions remain responsive to your goals, values, and lived experiences while honouring the whole person within their unique context.
